APPLICATION
Prepare the Patient
Ensure the patient is seated or standing upright in a relaxed position.
If applying post-surgery or after an injury, move the arm carefully to avoid further pain or damage.
2. Positioning the Immobilizer
Wrap the elastic band around the torso (across the chest and upper back).
Make sure the strap sits snugly below the armpits and does not cause discomfort.
3. Placing the Arm in the Immobilizer
Position the affected arm across the abdomen, keeping the elbow bent at 90 degrees.
Slide the forearm into the arm support strap, ensuring it is secure but not too tight.
4. Securing the Straps
Fasten the Velcro straps or buckles to keep the arm close to the body.
Adjust the shoulder strap (if present) to prevent excessive shoulder movement.
5. Comfort & Fit Check
Ensure the arm and shoulder are well-supported without excessive tightness.
The patient should be able to breathe comfortably with no pressure on the chest.
The immobilizer should stay in place during movement but allow proper circulation.
