Steps to Apply an Ankle Binder:
1.Preparation:
Clean and dry the ankle area to prevent skin irritation.
Ensure the ankle binder is the correct size for a snug but comfortable fit.
2.Positioning:
Sit comfortably with the injured leg elevated.
Place the foot at a 90-degree angle to the leg for a neutral position.
3.Create a Figure-8 Pattern:
Wrap diagonally across the top of the foot, going under the arch.
Then, wrap it around the back of the ankle and return to the front, crossing over the initial layer.
4.Application:
Elastic Sleeve Type:
Slide the ankle binder onto the foot, ensuring it covers the ankle joint evenly. Adjust for comfort and compression.
5. Wrap Type:
Start wrapping from the arch of the foot.
Move upward toward the ankle, overlapping each layer by half the width of the binder.
