Description
Indication for Use
Shoulder Dislocations & Subluxations
Helps prevent further injury by keeping the joint in place.
Post-Surgical Recovery
Used after rotator cuff repair, labrum surgery, or fracture fixation to aid healing
Clavicle (Collarbone) Fractures
Reduces movement to promote proper bone alignment and healing.
Humerus (Upper Arm) Fractures
Provides stability and minimizes pain by keeping the arm close to the body.
Acromioclavicular (AC) Joint Injuries
Helps in managing AC separations or sprains.
Soft Tissue Injuries (Tendon & Ligament Tears)
Supports and immobilizes the shoulder to prevent strain.
Brachial Plexus Injuries
Protects the affected nerve structures by minimizing movement.
Application
1. Prepare the Patient
Ensure the patient is seated or standing in a relaxed position. If the injury is recent, move the arm carefully to avoid pain or further injury.
2. Position the Chest Strap
Wrap the wide chest strap around the torso, securing it snugly below the armpits. Fasten the Velcro or buckle to keep it in place.
3. Position the Arm in the Support
Place the injured arm across the body, keeping the elbow bent at 90 degrees. Slide the forearm into the pouch or support strap, ensuring the entire arm is secure.
4. Secure the Shoulder Strap
Attach the shoulder strap over the opposite shoulder (cross-body design). Connect it to the chest strap to prevent shoulder movement. Adjust the tension to keep the arm and shoulder stable but comfortable.
5. Comfort & Fit Check
✅ Ensure the arm is fully supported and the shoulder is immobilized.
✅ The chest strap should be snug but not too tight—allowing comfortable breathing.
✅ The elbow should rest naturally, without excessive pressure.
