Indication for use

  • Sprains & Strains – Provides compression and support for mild to moderate ankle, wrist, knee, and elbow injuries.
  • Swelling & Edema Control – Helps reduce swelling in limbs caused by injuries, varicose veins, or post-surgical recovery.
  • Joint & Muscle Support – Used to stabilize weak or injured joints and muscles.
  • Post-Surgical Dressing Support – Helps secure wound dressings or splints in place.
  • Varicose Vein Compression – Provides gentle compression to improve blood circulation and reduce vein swelling.
  • Fracture Support (Temporary Use) – Used as a temporary support before applying a plaster cast.
  • Sports Injury Prevention – Wraps around joints to prevent injuries during physical activities.

Application

  1. Prepare the Affected Area
    • Ensure the skin is clean and dry.
    • If covering a wound, apply a sterile dressing first before wrapping.
    • Keep the affected limb in a comfortable position.
  2. Start Wrapping the Bandage
    • Anchor the Bandage: Begin at the extremity (farthest point from the heart) and wrap upward.
    • Apply Even Tension: Keep the bandage snug but not too tight to avoid cutting off circulation.
    • Use Overlapping Layers: Each wrap should overlap by 50% of the previous layer for uniform compression.
  3. Secure the Bandage
    • Finish wrapping just above the injury site.
    • Secure it with clips, tape, or by tucking the end into a previous layer.
    • Ensure fingers or toes remain exposed (if wrapping a limb) to monitor circulation.

Application for Specific Conditions

  • Sprains & Strains: Wrap firmly around the joint, ensuring moderate compression without restricting movement.
  • Swelling & Edema: Apply gentle pressure, wrapping from lower to upper limb to promote blood flow.
  • Post-Surgical Support: Secure over wound dressings or splints, ensuring stability.
  • Varicose Veins: Use mild, consistent compression, wrapping upwards towards the heart.
